Disillusionment

The long story is this:
I thought maybe I should add some more practical components to my repertoire of employable skills, but finally realized bookkeeping is as far as I would like to go in the finance department.

The short story is this:
Accounting sucks!

I'm pretty sure I can't finish this accounting program in time. I'm trying my best, but I just don't care anymore. The fact that it's all online doesn't help. At least I already have an accounting certification. For what it's worth.

So yes, I've come running back to my comfort zone of Humanities and Arts. Maybe I'll just learn five more languages and fulfill my dreams of working abroad. I'll be an au pair in Spain. Au pairs actually get pretty good benefits, depending on where they work.

Did you know there are au pair agencies in Europe that only hire Filipina/o au pairs specifically? Why is this? Are we easier to exploit because of our preternaturally friendly dispositions? Because I wouldn't take any sass from some seven year old European kid if I were an au pair.

I'd be like, "Hey kid, did you just throw nutella at my face? Are you cussing me out in some language I don't know? Well guess what? I get paid to take care of you. Do you know how much your mom pays me to hang out with you just so she doesn't have to? How do you say 'make me a sandwich' in your language? Geil, now geh y make me ein bocadillo. merci."

Actually sounds like fun. I'll look into it.

Accounting Classes, Sans Rival, and Bone Marrow

I'm totally behind on my online accounting program. I should have been on pace to finish one class per month, but ended up spending four months on the first class alone! Why? BECAUSE INTRO TO BUSINESS IS BORING.
Now that I'm onto a topic I'm actually excited about (yes, I get excited about financial accounting, wanna fight?), I get a letter saying my textbook is on backorder and they don't know when it will arrive. Good thing I already have accounting knowledge in my head, because re-learning about financial statements and general ledgers without a visual guide and workbook is like having to make Sans Rival without knowing the recipe.

...mmm Sans Rival...

For those who do not know the supreme happiness that is Sans Rival, it's a crispy meringue cake with alternating layers of butter-butter-buttercream and covered in crushed cashews. I like eating it frozen. Like I'm doing right now. (!!!)

ANWYAY. I have eight months to complete 11 more classes, which is doable, but I've gotta buckle down. Because in those eight months I'd like to get in a trip to the Philippines, work, basketball games, a lot of eating, a lot of sleep, Disneyland, live music, cats, good movies, NOT accounting, and other junk that comes up along the way.

So if anyone needs me, I will probably be in front of a computer or at the library or both. With a 10-key calculator attached to my right hand and a finely sharpened Ticonderoga in my left.

Speaking of buttercream, my next post should be about how much cholesterol I've been ingesting in the form of BONE MARROW. Bone marrow is actually a GOOD cholesterol food! I AM SUPER HAPPY TO LEARN THIS.
