I'm so happy that the L.A. Times covered Felt Club!
(Like Fight Club, but with crafts instead of fists)
There were so many people there last Sunday and lots of one of a kind things to buy, all handmade by really cool people. I bought a taco from this lady for Tinah before she left for Australia, but I really wanted to buy the bacon and egg breakfast or toast. Maybe by next year's Felt Club, I'll have my own stuff to sell. I really need to stop hopping from hobby to hobby and settle on two or three mediums.
The article didn't mention the Swap that was happening upstairs though. The upper right corner in the picture of the Shrine was devoted to the Swap-O-Rama Rama, where people bring bags of their unwanted clothes, and all the clothes go into piles and everyone grabs as many items as they want from the piles to take home. You definitely have an advantage if you volunteer - first dibs on the goods. And it helps to have a strategy, as my sis wrote about. It's nice to get "new" clothes and not spend money...and personally, it's a better alternative than regular shopping. Like at a mall. Because malls scare me.
Anyway, people who make stuff to sell are my heroes.
